St Andrew’s Famine Fund
Welcome to the pages of StAFF. St Andrew’s Famine Fund was established back in the year 1985 as a response to the humanitarian crisis in Ethiopia. Since it’s inception, it has raised funds of more than £100,000 – something which we as a Church are extremely proud.
At our most recent meeting on 18th September, we were privileged to have £850 to distribute to various charities. We take great care and careful consideration when allocating funds, and work with the principle of selecting charities that have low administration costs, and who are close enough to the people on the ground to make a real impact.
The recent meeting allocated donations in this way:
£300 – Médecins Sans Frontières
£300 – Teso
£250 – Practical Action
As always, we welcome suggestions from the congregation on any particular charity they feel we should consider as a beneficiary of StAFF
On behalf of the committee and in advance of thanks from the charities, you have our sincere heartfelt thanks.
